a’7oko wege3 men el s6oo7!

You just won’t believe the way I slept last night and the reason behind it! hala2 before I tell you, we need to get you people in the mood first =)

Fine, I’ll be honest and direct. Close your eyes and try to go back to the 3rd grade and try to remember when we used to mock our class mates with different names and ways! I used to be the expert when it comes to 2 things, lama el mes bet7o6 wa7ad min el wlad been 2 girls, or when we start a roomer ino fi tneeen be7ebo ba3ad, I just remember khader and dana, I used to tease them badly that they always go to the teacher and cry! (khader and dana, wherever you are, I wish you luck and happiness) loool

To tell you the truth, they used to hate each other! But what would you think eza ba2olkom eno when we were kids, we used to tease the people we like, bs 7awlo tsheeelo el reeee7to tal3ah, o ele 3ala sha3arha eshreh, or 7ata abu 4 eyes, m3 eni I’m wearing glasses now! hehe

Note: If you can’t remember this, ma3nato you are sitting on the other side of the table zai khader o dana!

We got older and the way we express our feelings changed! To tell you the truth, till now when it comes to girls, I just like picking on them as if we are 10 years old. It’s not something I’m proud of, bs I just enjoy it. My friends nazalo faraman hadaro dami feeh 3ashan I used to mock them and their girl friends! ya 7abeebi sho kunt a3mil iza zaqqato 7amalelha daftar, wila sha7anelha el mobile, ra7at 3leeh o 3a edeeh o ejreeh, estalamto shahar zamman! be sara7a el sha’3aleh ma kanat tod’7ol be rasi.. they used to tell me that a day will come and I would fall right down on my face and get attached to a girl (la2 mo zai tab3it el mail, hehe), and that day came 4 months ago! allah wakeelkom zai ele waqe3 men s6oo7 =)

Now you are in the mood, embari7 I slept metrabe3 3al kanabye wil notebook be7odnee! Can you imagine??!! s7eet el sobe7, dahri mush mksoor, la2 la2 kizib; s7eet ment3el abo taltamisooo o el short 7alel loonoo 3ashan 7arert el notebook! Akeed you can guess why leesh nimit heek?!! =p

hala2, you are thinking meen hai ele emha da3yeh 3LEEEHA mo ELHA, 3ALEEHA leelet el ader o 7abatni, mm mahi el tanyneh kamman majnooneh zayee, hehe mm za3rah, o sho’3ol dawaween, akeed ma bedi ansah to mention ino hee 7ilweh la allah! bs el erd be3een emo ‘3azal! loool (yes that type of teasing, I just scored three points, yoohooo!) Anyways el notebook battery is running out and I have 14 minutes life time left, so ill catch you later!

I just miss my friend :(

I remember that night as if it was yesterday!
Sitting down on the side walk and eating canned sweetn corn, drinking 7up and drawing...
A quite few number of my friends wonder about my soul relation with Pink Floyd and the reason of me missing my friend so much! I'm asking them to look at our drawing that night and to read High Hopes lyrics.
Once Pink Floyd sang:
medium_randa.4.JPG
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our thoughts strayed constantly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begun
Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The nights of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfurled
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Encumbered forever by desire and ambition
There's a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
go down this road we've been so many times

I just feel awkward

Saying good bye to a friend is not that easy, especially when you’re habituated to gossip and giggle with for 2 hours daily. Today I feel my tongue is tied. God I need somebody to speak to... ya jama3ah bedy 7adan al3ey ma3oh :) looool

The point is we both suck on the phone, our conversation lasts maximum 1 minute
Bander: eash ya ahbal
Friend: ahbal la7alak
Bander: 3amleh eah?
Friend: wala shi zah2aneh, em farfetah ro7y! enta?
Bander: wala 3ala heek a7san minik!
Bander: keaf kan youmik?
Friend: mm, ya allah kan bedy a2olak eshy bs nseet!
b3deen 2 seconds silence
Bander: yalla bye
Friend: bye…

That’s it, I always wondered about the reason but never found any! As for her memory loss problem, I think I’ll be in touch with Dr. Dexter to find a solution! hehe

When it comes to us spending quality time together I really enjoy it… people just find her complicated, I totally disagree, she is too simple for people to understand… ay sa7 banooteh labseh bostar o bet2ool mabedy atjawaz, bs on the other hand ta7sheeesh, allah wakeelkom z3rah sho’3ol dawaween o talaween and that’s the only thing I care for ah + lsanha metbary menha hehe

She traveled away and inshallah she is coming back after 2 months, it makes me sad, I already miss her! I know she is spending great time out there, beny o beenkom a7sanelha min el balad hoon… el ma7alat kolha sarat malyaneh mo’3tarebeen - o homeh aslatan kamen ma7al m3dooden 3al asabe3- wil shaware3 kolha nomar min el gulf! min el zifteh hady el azmeh, sar el wa7ad bedo 2 t-shirts, wa7deh ye3ra2 feha bil sayarah wil tanyeh yelbes-ha 3ashan meshwaro! What I hate the most ino Iraqis malo el balad, I don’t hate the Iraqi people (especially ‘7alto em 7seen o arayebha o s7ab-hoom), I hate the effect we are suffering in Jordan because of this, especially the prices of real estate, food, everything! wow I drifted away form my post’s subject, anyways I just miss my friend :(

masdoom rasmi

3al 3adeh nazel nam be hal omeh, bs this time a’7oko masdoom rasmi… most of my posts are oriented on small stuff, guys loving shawerma, or keaf ½ banat el ballad shayfeen 7alhom 3al fady o homeh ma3ateeb! hala2 today’s post is going to be about a bad habit that Jordanian’s developed through the years, let me simplify it 7ata netfaham o netla3 be outcome mo7taram…

hala2 ya jama3ah shaqfeh marqat, it’s either you whistle, or simply call her eash ya b6ah, ya ‘7asseh or even ya karazeh, wila betshid sha3ratak o betdrob ele jambak, ya3ni lazim tet7arkash o etdwen 3leeha, as a part of this community I used to do that too, but in a nicer way, ya3ni e.g. “baqoolha esma3i 3eneiki 7elween, bs 3enik el yameen a7la min el shmmal!” ya3ni o talaween… most of the times you get a good simle, o ebta’7odlak babooj!

The above humor is what we follow and try to keep up with in Jordan, what shocked me ino I got a confusing feedback from the other side, yesterday I went for a walk with my best friend and her sister 3ndna bil 7ara, o men tna7ty ro7et fata7et hal mawdoo3… el feedback ino girls hates such humor, o lama she smiles o heek betkoon 3m ebtetkafa el shar a3deh minshan tesebha bi 7alha! They told me that it sounds jnoon if they go for a walk, or eza nezlo 3a jabal el hussien, ya 7beeby hato hat 3lay et2olo jabal el 7ossen laly ‘7alafny! In the exact words one of the girls said: “nefsi yekoon m3 rashash o anzil o a6o’7 shabbab hal balad!” I replied: “ino malik ya binit enhabalti…” she replied: “ino jareb etkoon binit o tenzil 3a jabal el hussien menshan teshtry pants wila shirts, shoof sho beseer feek!” suddenly I felt their pain, at the beginning I thought eno 3ala 3adet el neswan el 7abeh qobeh, bs they told me stories shayabat rasy… 6b ya jama3ah el 7aky o yalla masheenah, bs oset el ba9ba9ah, 3eeeb ya e’7wan wala 3eeb, 6b et’7ayal wa7ad 3emil heek m3 o’7tak, ma ebtl3n emo 3a abo, hada eza 3alaqto min balash ne7ki…

B3raf fe menkom bs bedha el shabbab yeba9be9o, bs el majority banat 3alam o nas! I don’t want to take a lot of your time, in addition we all go to work, ya3ni stop wasting your time o 7alelo ratebkom… ana 3alay batalet zat el 7aky, wala eny batla3 dayman be nahfat.. bs for the most part I feel sorry for the girls, 3eeb ya e’7wan 3ala oset el ba9ba9a, balash menha… ostor 3a banat el 3alam allah bokra bostor 3a banatak… I knew that a minority does such acts, bs it turned out ino la shoffer taxi, wala 7ata control coseter ‘7a6 el bayader ela nazzel ba9ba9ah o qelet 7ayah! I will start with my friends, you start too, let’s work together on a better community!

Launching a ClickOnce Application from another ClickOnce Application

Source: http://www.codeproject.com/useritems/ClickOnceLauncher.asp

ClickOnce applications do a great job of isolating applications from each other. This was done for two reasons security and maintainability. Firstly it allows for greater security since the .NET framework manages security via code access policies. Secondly it increases maintainability by preventing the problems with "DLL hell". But this does pose a problem when one wants to launch the application. While it is installed on the hard drive the framework installs it in different locations for every user.

Microsoft solved this problem by creating a special type of shortcut, called an "application reference" that is used in the start menu when a ClickOnce application is installed locally. Great now we can launch an application from the start menu, but what if we want to launch it from another application?

To answer this problem I started where many of you are thinking I will just use the URL to the .application manifest file on the server. Just do a System.Diagnostics.Process.Start on the URL and I am good to go. While this will work find in an always connected scenario it doesn’t work if the application needs to run in offline mode.

For those applications I suggest doing a little bit of thievery. Since the application reference (*.appref-ms) that is created in the start menu will launch the application (if it is installed) for any user on any computer (with the .NET framework 2.0 installed) all we need to do is steal it out of the start menu and embed it in our launching application.

This technique is useful for applications that run in an online/offline mode. For online only application I suggest using just the URL.

The code

1.     Create the Client application

2.

1.     Create a new Windows Application in VS.NET 2005

2.     Call it ClickOnceClient

3.     Publish it, with all the default settings

4.     Install it

3.     Find the application reference file from the start menu

4.

1.     Using file explorer navigate to C:Documents and Settings(user)Start MenuPrograms(company)

5.     Create the Launcher application

6.

1.     Create a new Windows Application in VS.NET 2005

2.     Call it ClickOnceLauncher

3.     Add the application reference file for the client to the project

4.     Set its "Copy to Output Directory" property to "Copy always"

5.     Set its "Build Action" property to "Content"

6.     Add a button to the form

7.     In the click event of the button add a Process.Start for the file you just copied in

8.     Publish it, with all the default settings

9.     Install it

10. Run it

The untold story about Shawerma and Jordanian guys, no wonder why local girls hate us?!!

As usual it’s 11:30pm, and we parked our car infront of karam share3 mekka eating 3arabi and drinking pepsi getting ready for a long night of trix or code hacking!

Men don deolt sere, I asked the guys a small question: “ya e’7wan, what do you think about shawerma’s culture?” I got some owsome replies such as it’s a must, or Microsoft should create a shawerma arabi theme for msn spaces! hehe, others replied that 6al3et el shabbab hay wel 3arabi is better than spending time with their girl friends, yeah it’s time for you girls to know, and as for my friends’ girl friends don’t ask me for names coz I won’t bettrey my own sheleh! =p

Back to Jordev culture, I think you have to read this, Jordeis are writing poetry about shawerma 3arabi rather about girls, it’s not about being geeky, it’s about being Jordanian more! hehe a2olkom, iza el shabab kolha betbasbes 3al banat, bs enroo7 nakol 3arabi, wala law tomro2 Haifa Wahbeh bil mayooo ma7adan feehom rafa3 3eeno 3n sa7noo…

Ma bedi to waste your time so I’ll make it short, Jordanian culture = 3arabi, yer7am banat el balad, hehe; anyways we are going for a group 3arabi dinner on Friday June 2nd, so if you are interested to join us reply to this post: http://www.jordev.net/Home/tabid/36/forumid/6/threadid/33...

If you are looking for the poetry and discussion written about 3arabi in Jordev forums, check this post, try to skip the first 20 replies =)

Fighting change, 1 step forward 2 steps backward

Life is ironic in every mean of the word! When you get the feeling that everything is going fine, actually that's the silence before war... in my nature I'm a very simple guy, la ba7eb el laf wala el dawaran bs el zorof sometimes pushes you to the edge! During my days @ BEAT my manager once said: "What goes around comes around!" I just didn't get the real meaning of that until life taught me so! Today’s post is not about you crying over my sad story, actually I’m not gonna even tell it in details, I’ll just scope around, l2ano el balad ad joret el gloool; it’s to remind me and you that nothing stays the same! Every thing eventually changes…

el osa o ma feha ya jama3ah ino I'm losing a close friend, though I'm trying to grab hard with my both hands, my friend is slipping away more everyday! The push and pull thing is not working, I even tried reading some articles about retaining close friends (b3raf fadi ash’3al) nothing worked!

The idea I’m passing here is it’s either we see change coming and start preparing for adaptation, some times change is good for most people but other times it just knocks you down. To stand still complaining and crying won’t solve anything at all. By clock ticks and sun rises and sets, you see change coming to your life, through family, beloved ones, or even work, the more you fight it the more you determine losing the battle. JUST ADAPT!! It’s like every time I try fighting change I find my self going backward instead of moving on!

Things will change, that’s life, alah wakeelko mossalammeh ya hoo, remember 7th grade?! You can feel bad for a bit, bs for the long run r7 toga3 3a rasak if you won’t adapt… I’m not saying I will stop missing or fighting for my friend or the quality time we used to spend, I will even trade my life with a time machine to go back in time, bs life is life, el 3mor 3m yemshi!

I hope you got something valuable from my post, as for me, though I know I’ll be losing, and viva for 1 step forward 2 steps backward, I will keep on pushing to have my friend around me until my will drains.
